This past week has been particularly challenging on my mental health. My anxiety as been on the rise because of it being my last nine weeks of my junior year. This has presented issues such as college approaching and my ACT coming up. So, I want to share some of the strategies that I use to calm down and get out of my anxiety attack. Firstly, I just want to say that these tips work for me and they might not for you. I am just hearing these tips hoping that it will also help someone else in the future. the first thing I do is if I need to cry, I cry. There is no shame in crying and for me it really helps to just let all my emotions out. Secondly, I find 4 things that I can hear, see, and touch. that really helps me bring myself back o my surroundings and o focus on something else for a second rather than the thoughts that are consuming me. The last things I do is I try a few breathing exercises. I breathe in for ten seconds, hold it in for five, and breathe out. I do this step several tips and it really seems to help me. I hope what I shared with you today helps you in your journey and thank you for reading!

Writing down my thoughts in the morning really help me feel less anxious about the tings that I have to do that day. I really encourage this technique to anyone who feels like they see too much on their agenda and get stressed. writing down what I am feeling whether it is about work or school is something that I do. I don't know if it is just me, but I feel better writing things down because it makes them more real and like I have to accomplish them
Okay so hear me out, coloring is actually a great stress and anxiety reliever. They are not just fun things for kids to do, but also teens and adults. I myself am very passionate about the arts but you don't have to be when it comes to this. There have been many studies to show that coloring helps ease our minds. It requires minimal effort and causes us to let our thoughts pass by in our heads. This is something that I highly recommend especially to people who have a love for art or just doodling in general.
One of the things that helps me the most is reading the Bible. It makes me feel so centered and helps me focus on breathing. I feel like every time I open up the Bible and start reading it, all my worries vanish. My anxiety disappears and I feel closer in my relationship with God. There are so many verses on how to deal with anxiety in the Bible and they help me so much. I encourage everyone to read or find something within themselves to focus on to help me them decrease their level of anxiety.
This is from my personal experience and everyone is different so keep that in mind. One of the main things that had worked for me was to just take it all in. I would let all the thoughts run through my mind. The next thing I would do would probably be to think of good memories or moments in your life. That is something that I really recommend because it can take your mind off of what is currently happening so that you can calm down. It is important to know that you are going to be okay and everything will be okay. That is something that nobody had told me and I had to figure it out so just know that you will be fine.I hope that these couple tips have helped you!I hope to create an awareness of anxiety, and make sure it is not a topic that is swept under the rug. I want more people to be open about it because so many people go through the same thing. I hope that this website helps other people to feel comfortable enough. I have had anxiety for years and through this page, I want to share what has helped me and what has not. |
